Flatbed dispatch service

Flatbed, stepdeck & conestoga dispatch for owner-operators.

We dispatch loads, negotiate rates, set up brokers, and handle the paperwork. Carrier-side. No forced dispatch. No long-term contract.

About

A dispatch service for flatbed owner-operators.

Emerald Dispatch is a dispatch service for owner-operators running flatbed, stepdeck, or conestoga. We focus on flatbed-family equipment because rate floors, accessorials, and securement rules vary by commodity. Working in one lane of the industry means we know what to push for on a given load instead of looking it up after a broker pushes back.

We don't dispatch dry van or reefer. Most general dispatch services do — and owner-operators on the flatbed side often end up under-served by people running a generalist's playbook.

Services

What's included.

One percentage of gross load revenue. No tiers, no upsells.

Load sourcing

Flatbed, stepdeck, and conestoga loads from load boards and broker networks — matched to your lanes, equipment, and target rate.

Rate negotiation

We push the floor. Tarp pay, detention, layover, TONU, and driver assist confirmed in writing on the rate confirmation.

Broker setup

Carrier packets, COI requests, W-9, references, factor NOAs — we handle the broker-side intake so you don't lose a load to paperwork.

Paperwork & pay

Rate cons, BOL/POD collection, factor-ready packet handoff, and detention/accessorial pay recovery.

Reload planning

Next move lined up around your deadhead limits, target RPM, home time, and weather. Empty miles cost more than slow ones.

Direct communication

A direct line to your dispatcher. No call-center handoff. Reachable when you're rolling.

How it works

Sign-up to first load.

  1. 01

    Setup call

We confirm your equipment, MC/USDOT, home base, lane preferences, deadhead limits, and minimum all-in rate. We tell you our percentage on the call.

  2. 02

    Carrier packet

You sign our dispatch agreement and send a current COI, W-9, MC authority letter, and factoring info.

  3. 03

    First loads

We start sourcing. Every load gets sent to you for approval before booking — rate, lane, broker, accessorials. You say yes, we book and send the rate con. You say no, we move on.

  4. 04

    Running

You drive. We handle broker comms, BOL/POD collection, detention claims, and the next reload. Your factoring gets a clean packet.

Pricing

One percentage of gross.

No app fees. No monthly subscription. No setup fees. No factoring kickbacks. No long-term contract.

The percentage is quoted on the discovery call so we can match it to your equipment, lanes, and target rate.

Equipment

Flatbed, stepdeck, and conestoga.

That's the whole list. No vans. No reefers. The rate floors and accessorials are different from boxed freight, and lumping them together is how owner-operators get under-served.

FAQ

Common questions.

What does a flatbed dispatch service do?
A flatbed dispatcher works for the carrier — finding loads on load boards and broker networks, negotiating the rate, setting you up with the broker, confirming accessorials in writing on the rate confirmation, collecting BOLs and PODs, and lining up the next move so the truck stays loaded.
How is Emerald Dispatch different from other dispatch services?
We dispatch three trailer types only: flatbed, stepdeck, and conestoga. Most dispatch services dispatch everything — dry van, reefer, flatbed — with the same playbook. Flatbed freight has different rate floors, accessorials, and securement rules per commodity.
How much does flatbed dispatch cost?
A percentage of gross load revenue. No flat fees, no signup costs, no app subscriptions, no factoring kickbacks. The percentage is quoted on the discovery call.
Do I need my own MC authority to use a dispatch service?
Yes. You need active MC authority and a valid USDOT to be dispatched as a carrier. If you're still leased on or considering your own authority, our sister product Haul Forward grades the lease deal you're in or plans the path to your own MC.
What's the difference between a dispatcher and a broker?
A broker works for the shipper — they own the load and resell it to a carrier. A dispatcher works for the carrier — representing you to brokers and handling the paperwork on your side.
What equipment do you dispatch?
Flatbed, stepdeck, and conestoga. The rate floors and accessorials are different from dry van and reefer, and lumping them together is how owner-operators get under-served.
Where do you operate?
Lower 48. Lane planning is built around your home base, your target RPM, and your preferred regions — not ours.
Is there a long-term contract?
No long-term contract. No forced dispatch — you approve every load before we book. You can pause or end the relationship without penalty.
